Gary Ell is an Artist, Photographer and Educator. He was born, lived and played in the foothills to the Adirondacks in New York State, for the majority of his life. Gary was educated at Rochester Institute of Technology, where he studied photography and digital imaging. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1994. For the next couple of years, he worked as a wedding and portrait photographer in Amsterdam NY. In 1996, he was hired as an aircrew certified Digital Photographer to develop the first digital imaging facility for the US Dept of Defense. He rose from Digital Photographer to Project Manager and finally Director of Operations. During this tenure, he documented hurricane relief efforts in Central America, Ethnic Albanians fleeing war-torn Kosovo, Operation Allied Force and on the day after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, he provided FEMA with aerial photography of Ground Zero and spent the subsequent days documenting search and recovery operations within the ashes of Ground Zero.

Gary currently owns Pix-Ell Creative Group, a freelance photography and digital imaging company. He subsequently teaches Traditional Photography and Digital Photography at Mercer County Community College in Princeton Junction, New Jersey.
